Rep. Jim Bridenstine, a freshman from Tulsa, Okla., in an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas discussed how bills names don’t always tell the full story about what they actually do.
“If you look at the Violence Against Women Act, this is law enforcement that needs to be done at the state and local level,” Bridenstine said. “Passing a bill out of Washington D.C. as a one size fits all for the entire nation is how you misallocate scarce resources in a fragile market. The reality is that Oklahoma has very different needs than New York City.
“Everybody is against violence against women, I’m against violence against anyone, but the question is what do we as a nation believe the federal governments role is.”
