On Tuesday night’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” host Bill O’Reilly said former President Bill Clinton’s supposed remorse for signing the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act is all a big sham.
“I see, that’s sincere, isn’t it?” O’Reilly said. “When he signed it, it wasn’t a big deal. Now it’s a big deal, he changes. You know, I’m sorry … you are a phony, Bill Clinton. You are a phony. It’s the same exact issue. … You signed it because you thought it was going to be popular. And now that it’s not that so popular, you are against it. This is what sleazy politicians do.”
O’Reilly’s guest, “America Live” host Megyn Kelly, pointed out that Clinton’s evolution mirrored President Barack Obama’s changing stance on DOMA.
“They pander,” O’Reilly fumed. “They don’t care about gays. … It’s political, and it’s just awful.”
