Comedian Evan Sayet says he transformed from a self-described “brain-dead liberal” to a “9/13 Republican” because of his liberal friends’ failure to recognize the evil that motivated the terrorists who carried out the 9/11 attacks on America.
“What surprised me, what rocked my world, is what I metaphorically call 9/12. That’s the days, the weeks, the months and now the years after 9/11 and my liberal friends’ response to it,” Sayet told The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas.
“Here’s the most obvious case of good versus evil of my lifetime — perhaps the only case of good versus evil that hit anywhere close to home — and not only were the liberals on the side of the terrorists, but they were engaging in the most horrible slanders against the victims.”
With connections to David Letterman, Bill Maher and “The Arsenio Hall Show,” Sayet’s life experiences qualify him to comment on culture, politics and media. Political analyst Michael Barone says Sayet has “crossed the line from funny to important.”
Sayet’s 2007 lecture at the Heritage Foundation on “How The Modern Liberal Thinks” was the most-viewed lecture in the conservative think tank’s history. It was also the basis for his book, “The KinderGarden Of Eden: How The Modern Liberal Thinks And Why He’s Convinced That Ignorance Is Bliss.”
Segments of Thomas’ interview with Sayet will appear on TheDC throughout the week. In those segments, Sayet will discuss more of his theory on how modern liberals think, why parents should care who Howard Zinn is and what their children are learning in school, what President Obama’s legacy is likely to be and what gives him hope.
In a previous segment, Sayet discussed why liberals are “morally and intellectually retarded.” (RELATED: Comedian: Liberal comics ‘don’t want to make fun of Obama because they feel that it will weaken him’)
