Democratic state Sen. Malcolm Smith was one of six people arrested Tuesday for attempting to bribe his way onto the ballot for mayor of New York City, reports NBC.
The alleged conspirators were working with an undercover FBI agent, who they believed to be a wealthy real-estate developer. The mayoral race is scheduled for November 2013.
