Former GOP presidential candidate and moon colony fanatic Newt Gingrich loves the ITV/ PBS series “Downton Abbey.”
“One night last week we were up until 2 in the morning, because we had to see the next one,” Gingrich said Thursday in D.C., according to BuzzFeed.“We’re well into season three now.”
(He must be a really dedicated fan, because the show seriously jumped the shark during the third season. The Bates plot line was just unbearably boring, and two of the best characters died. Come on.)
Gingrich also said that he most identifies himself with the patriarch of Downton Abbey, the regal Lord Grantham.
Gingrich also said that “Downton Abbey” is “a great study in plot” because the show has many subplots in addition to the main storyline.
“You’re never bored,” Gingrich said. “It’s sort of MTV designed into longform.”
