In the wake of the recent Rutgers basketball controversy, “Saturday Night Live” decided the scandal was comedic fair game.

Rutgers head basketball coach Mike Rice was fired last week after video of him throwing basketballs at players and using gay slurs surfaced.

SNL host Melissa McCarthy plays a hot-headed coach that goes Rice-to-the-max on her players in the parody. In the skit, McCarthy’s character uses a baseball bat as motivation, makes them dodge a golf cart she drives at them, and throws various objects at players, including bricks and a toaster.

The faux-coach does a little behind the scenes bruising as well, as an assistant coach and the lead reporter end up with a few scratches after upsetting McCarthy’s character.
