No girlfriend? No problem! Just put on a coat, a bright green strap and headphones and then you basically have one, thanks to Japanese students at the University of Tsukuba who have created the saddest invention of all time.
The “girlfriend coat” was invented to give lonely guys the feeling that they have a girlfriend, by giving them a squeeze around their waist and nagging in their ears in the creepiest of anime voices.
“The concept of this device is to everyone get the feeling of having a girlfriend [sic],” said hardware engineer Hikaru Sigiura.
Because everyone wants a girlfriend who will just come up from behind and hug them around the waist, right?
Unfortunately, the coat is not available in stores and may never be. So if you are really itching for that simulated feeling of having a girlfriend, you will have to do so using other means.
