An outdoor pro-life display at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania was vandalized by hostile persons last week.

A student group, Pro-Life Slippery Rock, erected a display of crosses on a campus lawn, calling it the “Cemetery of the Innocents,” according to Campus Reform. During the night, some of the crosses were torn out of the ground, and a poster with a pro-choice message was left on the scene. The perpetrator’s identity is unclear.

Kyla Jones, vice president of the group, said the act of vandalism was a sign that not all students are respectful of other people’s rights.

“A lot of people say that they respect everyone, except the people they disagree with. We’ve been seeing that a lot today when he hand out flyers and people are disrespectful to us, they throw them away, they yell things, and call us names,” he said in a statement.

The incident calls to mind a similar crime committed against a pro-life display at DePaul University earlier this year. The students who destroyed the DePaul display were caught or confessed, but the university initially decided to instead punish the student who exposed the perpetrators.
