On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid read from a prepared statement that “On the anti-gun legislation before the Senate, we are making good progress on the effort to schedule a series of votes on amendments to the anti-gun-violence legislation before the Senate.”

The statement may accurately describe the restrictions being imposed by the bill, which is entitled “The Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act.” The bill curtails private property transfer rights between law-abiding individuals.

A vote on the bill can be expected as early as this week.
