Nearly 20 years ago, Paul Shanklin sent a tape and made a call to Johnny Donovan of “The Rush Limbaugh Show” that altered the course of Shanklin’s career.

Now the official “parody czar” for the most-listened to talk radio program in the nation, Shanklin has created over 1,300 political parodies. An avid news consumer and creative artist with a talented voice, Shanklin is able to mimic almost anyone.

The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas recently talked to Shanklin and some of the many political personalities he carries with him.

In this edition of the interview, Shanklin channels Al Gore on “the holy day of Earth Day” to comment on the sale of his network Current TV to Al-Jazeera.

“To the critics out there who criticize me for selling my successful TV network to Al-Jazeera, I can only say Allahu Akbar,” Shanklin joked. “But I have to say that by contract.”

Shanklin also does his best Ross Perot, Bob Dole, John McCain and Kim Jong Un impersonations.

In future segments of the interview TheDC will publish all this week, Shanklin appears as President and first lady Obama, Elizabeth Dole, and Louis Farrakhan, as well as former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Richard Nixon.

In a previous segment published Saturday, Shanklin even channeled the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
