In a tie game late in the fourth quarter of a swing game during a tight playoff series, you look to your best player.

For the Los Angeles Clippers, that player is point guard Chris Paul.

And he delivered.

With his Clippers tied with the Memphis Grizzlies at 91-91 and under 10 seconds left, Paul blew by Memphis guard Tony Allen, widely regarded as the top perimeter defender in the NBA, to hit an off-balance bank shot as the buzzer sounded to give the Clippers a 93-91 victory.

The shot put L.A. up 2-0 in what was supposed to be a great series that pitted explosive offense against stingy defense.

Chris Paul clearly doesn’t care what kind of defense the Grizzlies play.

Officials put a useless 0.1 seconds back on the block, but the Grizzlies didn’t connect on a desperation play, leaving them with the feeling that they let a chance to steal a pivotal road game slip away.
