Padi Restaurant in Hockessin, Del. has come under fire for comments made on the manager’s Instagram and the restaurant’s Facebook accounts. The manager, Aaron Kwan, denies that he wrote the offensive posts or comments and says he thinks a waiter or waitress could have used his account instead, reports the Daily Mail.

In one offensive comment on the Instagram account, someone posted a picture of a $53.80 bill with a $5.20 tip and the caption, “‘What do you expect from a last name like that? #cheap #jew.” Kwan, or the mystery person, seemed to hate everyone equally, similarly posting a picture of a $45.90 receipt with a $6.10 tip and saying, “With a last name like that, I don’t think you will ever expect a GOOD tip. #cheap #jerk #indian.”

He went as far as to take a picture of a family from afar with the caption, “#deuchbag alert. … hate him and his family. No respect for anyone ever.” The offensive comments weren’t limited to Instagram, as the angry tirades were posted on the restaurant’s Facebook account as well. One post read, “People need to take their meds before leaving the comfort of their home. Why would you come to an Asian restaurant when you don’t feel like having Asian food.”

Kwan is adamant that this was not his doing and that he would leave his iPad laying around, so it was vulnerable to being used by another employee. In the meantime, Kwan has been suspended indefinitely and the restaurant has issued formal apologies and is trying to individually track down customers who were targeted.
