Following her decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy because of her 87-percent chance of developing breast cancer, Angelina Jolie is preparing for another preventative surgery.

People Magazine reports that Jolie will have her ovaries removed to cancel out that risk. It is common for doctors to recommend that female patients have the procedure after age 40 or when a woman is finished having children because ovarian cancer is common yet preventable.
Jolie penned a touching op-ed in the New York Times this week about her tough decision to have a double mastectomy for the sake of her children.
“I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer,” Jolie wrote of her choice to have the surgery.
The father of her six children, Brad Pitt, said that he is “quite emotional” about Jolie’s surgeries.
In an interview with USA Today Tuesday, Pitt said that the experience was “an emotional and beautifully inspiring few months. And I’ll tell you, it’s such a wonderful relief to come through this and not have a spectre hanging over our heads. To know that that’s not going to be something that’s going to affect us. My most proudest thing is our family. This isn’t going to get that.”
