WASHINGTON — As part of its investigation into who leaked a story to the Associated Press, the Justice Department not only obtained AP phone records, but also the phone records of Attorney General Eric Holder.

Holder said Wednesday at a House Judiciary Committee hearing that his own phone records had been turned over as part of the investigation.

Holder recused himself from the investigation to avoid a conflict of interest, as he was one of the persons in possession of the leaked information and was questioned by the FBI in relation to the leak.

“Some of my telephone records were examined,” he said, in relation to the investigation.

“I voluntarily turned them over,” Holder added.

The AP’s phone records were obtained without the AP’s knowledge.
