It has taken us nearly a year, but we have finally found the definitive Daily Caller Patriot. Philadelphia Eagles guard Evan Mathis is the example that all future patriots will be compared to. A Daily Caller Patriot is defined as, “Someone who stands up for individual liberty in the most awesomely ridiculous, obnoxious or just outright stupid way possible.” Mathis went so far above and beyond this definition that he probably deserves an even more impressive title, a trophy and a million-dollar check made out to his favorite charity for what he did. In the wake of the Internal Revenue Service auditing scandal, Mathis would like the agency to “Audit this.” (This being his penis.)

The NFL star posted an Instagram photo of himself Wednesday appearing to urinate on the sign in front of the IRS building in Washington, D.C. along with the caption “Audit this.”

The tax agency is under fire for unfairly targeting and auditing conservative groups, and just being terrible in general.

Mathis was just doing what many red-blooded Americans wish they had the balls to do: deface a federal building. For that, he is THE Daily Caller Patriot. We salute you, sir.
