The House Judiciary Committee is looking into whether Attorney General Eric Holder lied when he said he didn’t know anything about the Department of Justice going after journalists for reporting classified information.

Asked about media reports indicating the committee is investigating whether Holder misled during his May 15 appearance before the committee, a House Judiciary aide confirmed to The Daily Caller that, “we are looking into his testimony.”

Fox News reported Tuesday that the committee is undergoing this review because Holder testified before the House Judiciary Committee that he was neither involved in nor knew about “the potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material.”

Last week, it was revealed that Holder himself approved of the Justice Department obtaining records from Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen. While Rosen has not been charged with any crime, the search warrant approved by Holder labeled Rosen a “co-conspirator” for reporting on classified information about North Korea.

In recent weeks, it was revealed that the Justice Department — in investigating separate national security leaks to reporters — also obtained phone and email records of Associated Press reporters.
