In an iconic photo that captured the true horror and heroism that occurred during last month’s Boston Marathon bombings, Jeff Bauman was ushered away from the wreckage with his legs blown off by a cowboy hat-earing Carlos Arredondo.

Bauman, upon waking up in the hospital, offered the FBI crucial information regarding the identity of the bombing suspects that he saw before the explosions occurred.

Prior to last night’s Red Sox-Phillies game in Boston, the two were celebrated as heroes and each got to throw out ceremonial first pitches.

The two received a well-deserved ovation from the crowd before and after delivering their pitches.

Arredondo threw to Red Sox star David Ortiz while Bauman tossed a perfect strike to Boston catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

It’s a pretty cool moment when the sports world gets to be in the presence of real heroes.
