Former CIA director Leon Panetta openly discussed classified information about the Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden in the presence of “Zero Dark Thirty” writer and producer Mark Boal at a 2011 ceremony, according to a draft of a Pentagon inspector general’s report obtained by a watchdog group.

The former defense secretary  revealed information categorized as “top secret” and “secret,” including the name of the specific SEAL unit involved in the raid, in an address at a CIA awards ceremony.

The report does not address whether or not Panetta was aware Boal was in attendance at the June 24, 2011 event held at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. A CIA press release issued a week after the event states that approximately 1300 people from the military and intelligence communities attended the event.
