It was illogical, captain!

Faris Fink, the Internal Revenue Service manager who spearheaded the creation of $50,000 worth of videos for a 2010 conference — and appeared in one as Star Trek’s Mr. Spock — told congressional investigators Thursday that he regretted making the clips.

After Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa played a clip of Fink pretending to be the Star Trek character, the humiliated IRS official expressed his embarrassment about making the videos.

“What were you thinking?” Issa asked.

“Frankly, they were not appropriate,” Fink said.

“The fact of the matter is, it’s embarrassing and I apologize,” he continued. “They are embarrassing and I regret the fact that they were made.”
