A conservative group wants a former top aide to President Barack Obama to testify before Congress on the scandals facing the Internal Revenue Service.

The call for Obama White House aide and deputy 2012 campaign manager Stephanie Cutter to appear before the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee come after the Democratic aide recently admitted on CNN that she attended White House meetings with the IRS  commissioner.

“Chairman Darrell Issa should demand that Stephanie Cutter testify and if she is unwilling to do so, then Congress should subpoena her,” ForAmerica Chairman Brent Bozell said Friday. “A political hack meeting regularly with the head of the IRS to discuss the policy of Obamacare? That makes no sense.”

The Daily Caller reported last week that White House logs indicate that IRS Commissioner Doug Schulman has visited the White House at least 157 times.

Cutter downplayed that report on Jake Tapper’s CNN show, The Lead, saying that “many of those meetings were for health care implementation.”

“I was in them with him,” she said. “So there is nothing nefarious going on.”

Cutter didn’t immediately return an email seeking comment from The Daily Caller.
