WASHINGTON — Speaker of the House John Boehner lambasted the climate plan that President Barack Obama is set to release in the next few weeks as “absolutely crazy.”

White House energy adviser Heather Zichal announced Obama will release his second term agenda on climate change in July, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

Speaking in Berlin on Wednesday, the President pledged “we will do more,” on climate change.

One specific component of that plan, according to the New York Times, will create “regulations limiting carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants.”

“I think this is absolutely crazy,” Boehner said when asked about the plan at a press conference Thursday. “Why would you want to increase the cost of energy and kill more American jobs at a time when the American people are still asking the question, ‘where are the jobs?’”
