There’s something about Nadia — the horse — that Texas resident Cirilo Castillo just can’t quit.
Sheriff’s deputies in Hidalgo County, Texas arrested Castillo, again, for having sex with the mare, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 43-year-old day laborer has allegedly had sex with the animal on multiple occasions. The owners of the tempting animal had installed a security camera in its corral because of Castillo’s previous endeavors.
“We have a hell of a surveillance tape,” Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino told the Chronicle. “It is not going to go to, ‘America’s Funniest Videos,’ that is for sure.”
Trevino said he was hoped the judge in the case could order Castillo to submit to psychological treatment.
“Maybe we can get him some help. Whatever we can do, we are going to try and do,” the sheriff said.
“The guy is practically harmless, except for the horse,” Trevino added. “I can’t just ignore this and allow it to keep happening.”
Castillo has a police record that includes previous arrests for marijuana possession and theft. He was also arrested and convicted for cruelty to animals. His time served because of his prior rendezvous with Nadia ended in April.
Castillo appeared before a local judge this week on charges of cruelty to animals and trespassing. He pleaded guilty, according to local CBS affiliate KGBT.
There is no law against bestiality in Texas. An undated Change.org petition to make sex between animals and humans in The Lone Star State illegal has collected just over 1,000 signatures since its inception. It was last signed by someone in Canada about five months ago.
