Looking at porn can be good for you

As soon as you start to feel the crushing weight of the world creeping down on you, look at some porn.

According to new research from Carnegie Mellon University (and dudes in office cubicles across the nation), porn reduces stress and makes you more productive, Men’s Health reports.

Men who spent a few minutes looking at sexy photos — soft-core stuff like lingerie catalogues and Kate Upton in a bikini — the brain chemical that causes stress was reduced by half. The men also did 50 percent better on the math portion of the test than those who looked at regular, boring photos.

When you are stressed out, your brain releases cortisol, which impairs your problem-solving abilities. But according to the study’s co-author, looking at nudie pics (or at least half nudie pics) reduces the amount of cortisol your brain pumps out.

The study’s subjects looked at the sexy images before embarking on a daunting task, so try flipping through a copy of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition before starting on your TPS reports.

In case you are in need of some de-stress material, we have plenty of resources for that, including:

21 photos of Kate Upton on her 21st birthday [SLIDESHOW]

20 amazing bikini bodies [SLIDESHOW]

So the next time your boss walks by your desk and you’re looking through one of those slideshows, just tell him that you are preparing to be more productive in the workplace.
