Panamanian officials Tuesday seized a North Korean freighter carrying missile components traveling from Cuba toward the Panama Canal.
Ricardo Martinelli, president of Panama, said the North Korean ship contained “sophisticated missile equipment,” which would be a violation of U.N. sanctions on North Korea.
Thirty-five crew members on the freighter were arrested after violently resisting Panamanian attempts to redirect the ship, and the ship’s captain attempted suicide during the confrontation.
Ros-Lehtinen retweeted the message from the Kim Jong-un impersonator at 3:37 pm Tuesday. It is unclear whether or not the congresswoman was manning her own Twitter account at the time of the retweet, and also if Ros-Lehtinen believed the tweet to be an actual message from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
Ros-Lehtinen could not immediately be contacted after normal business hours Tuesday. The Daily Caller has left messages with Ros-Lehtinen staffers regarding the retweet.
