Blame the Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Rolling Stone cover on Kanye West

We can all blame the fact that we have to look at Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s stupid, terrorist face at the grocery store checkout line for the next month on Kanye West.

The rapper was reportedly scheduled to cover Rolling Stone’s August issue timed with the release of his latest album, “Yeezus.” But because Kanye West is Kanye West, he backed out at the last minute and so the magazine’s editors thought it would be a super great idea to make a child-killing terrorist look cool on the cover of an international rock publication.

According to Gawker, West decided not to do the story — perhaps due to the public reaction to his recent batshit crazy/ insane/ awesome New York Times and W Magazine profiles.

Rolling Stone has been raked over the coals for putting the (alleged but totally guilty) Boston Marathon bombing suspect on the cover. Reactions to the cover were overwhelmingly negative and caused Boston-area pharmacies to refuse to carry the issue. (RELATED: Companies boycott Rolling Stone)

Boston Mayor Tom Menino even wrote a letter imploring the magazine to pull the magazine, but Rolling Stone is standing by its decision.
