It’s all fun and games until Cristiano Ronaldo breaks your wrist with a soccer ball.

Six minutes into a Real Madrid-Bournemouth preseason soccer match, the Real Madrid superstar sent the ball soaring into the stands during a free kick, shattering the wrist of an 11-year-old Bournemouth fan.

Despite fracturing two bones in his wrist and later requiring surgery for his injuries, Charlie Silverwood stuck it out for the remaining 84 minutes of the game. To add insult to injury, Real Madrid crushed Bournemouth, 6-0.

But, in the end, little Charlie wasn’t sent home home empty-handed. Ronaldo gave Silverwood a signed Real Madrid jersey, which was presented to him by former Bournemouth all-star Steve Fletcher.

Silverwood called the whole incident “spectacular.”
