George Zimmerman was pulled over for speeding outside of Dallas, Texas on Sunday, the local news site InForney reported Wednesday.

Zimmerman, the recently-acquitted murder suspect who killed Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., in February 2012, was stopped in Forney, Texas, driving westbound on Highway 80.

Upon being flagged down, Zimmerman immediately told the state trooper who had pulled him over that he had a gun in the glove compartment, presumably for self-protection. After confirming Zimmerman’s identity using his date of birth, the state trooper asked where he was going.

“Nowhere in particular,” InForney quotes Zimmerman as saying in a dashcam recording of the events.

“Nowhere in particular, why is that?” the officer asked.

“You didn’t see my name?” asked Zimmerman.

The officer checked to see if Zimmerman was the subject of any outstanding arrest warrants, and after seeing that he was not, let him go without a ticket.

“The reason you were stopped was for your speed, why don’t you slow down a little bit for me and, as long as you don’t have any warrants, I’ll cut you loose with a warning,” the officer says. “Just take it easy, go ahead and shut your glove compartment and don’t play with your firearm, OK?”

The news is the second instance in which Zimmerman has returned to the headlines in the wake of his acquittal on July 13. He rescued multiple people from an overturned vehicle after a car crash in Sanford, Fla., on July 17.
