After she was mocked for wearing a cross necklace at a photoshoot, Kate Upton didn’t back down.

Instead, she got a tattoo of a cross on her finger so that a cross is with her “at all times.”

Upton defended her faith in an interview with Elle magazine, describing an incident in which someone at a shoot asked her, “Why are you wearing a cross? Like you would be religious,” and then took the necklace away.

“I was really affected by that,” said Upton.

She sparked controversy from Catholics by dressing as a sexy nun in 2012’s “The Three Stooges,” a stunt she said was “just for fun.”

In the Elle interview, the 21-year-old supermodel also hit back against people who consider her a stereotypical dumb blonde.

“People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you,” she said.

“It’s actually funny. I’m always like, I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know.”

Upton then addressed rumors she was dating “Dancing with the Stars” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

“I really have never had a serious relationship in the industry. I’m just having fun. Obviously I have a very busy schedule at this time in my life, and I don’t put relationships as a priority.”
