In a horrific display of brutality reminiscent of Tiananmen Square, a video posted late Thursday night shows in graphic detail Egyptian troops mowing down protesters when they moved in to clear Muslim Brotherhood encampments.

Several protesters were seriously injured in the incident, including one who was carried away in amakeshift stretcher and another who suffered a serious gunshot wound to the chest. Their current condition is not known. There is no confirmation if anybody was killed in the incident, although the death toll from the violence now exceeds 600, with thousands more injured.

It appears from the video that the camera man is also hit at the two minute thirty mark, but he continues to film. Injured protesters are seen crawling away as shots continue to be fired.

The firing appears to have come from troops in an armored personnel carriers, which can be seen driving up to the cowering protesters towards the later part of the video during another period of sustained gunfire.
