The next time you’re messing around on your iPhone, try asking Siri what its favorite college football team is.
Believe it or not, it will give you a legitimate answer, and it’s not the Alabama Crimson Tide or Ohio State Buckeyes. It’s the Oregon State Beavers.
Earlier this week, Oregon State Head Coach Mike Riley sent a tweet proposing that his followers ask Siri where its college football allegiance lies.
Those who took up the Beavers’ coach up on his challenge found that when you ask the iPhone personal assistance program what its favorite college football team is, it responds, “I always like to root for the underdog. I guess that makes me an Oregon State fan right now.” It then pulls up The Associated Press college football rankings, and shows Oregon State’s last place ranking at 25.
Interestingly enough, Siri’s favorite college basketball team is the 25th-ranked Oregon Ducks, Oregon State’s rival. Siri’s other favorites include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL), the Houston Astros (MLB), the Los Angeles Clippers (NBA), the Nashville Predators and D.C. United (MLS).
