Well, not exactly. His statement isn’t quite that strong. I don’t want to misquote him:
Praying for the family of Chris Lane. This senseless violence is frowned upon and the justice system must prevail.
— Rev Jesse Jackson Sr (@RevJJackson) August 21, 2013
He may or may not frown upon it himself. He’s just noting the breach in etiquette. It’s a bit gauche.
A young black person gets shot while assaulting a Hispanic person, and we’re back to the days of Emmett Till. A young white person gets shot because he jogged past a black person’s house, and it’s “frowned upon.”
Some reaction:
. @RevJJackson Thanks for that tepid, milquetoast response. 'Frowned upon'?? Why not be REALLY harsh and call the boys 'naughty' or 'fresh'?
— Jim Norton (@JimNorton) August 21, 2013
.@JimNorton At least @RevJJackson didn't say "the justice system must prevail THIS time." As if it didn't, the last time he spoke up.
— Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) August 21, 2013
@jtLOL @JimNorton @RevJJackson Wearing Crocs is frowned upon. Cold-blooded murder should at least be seen as "objectionable" or "lame"
— Ryan Gustafson (@RyanLGustafson) August 21, 2013
@RevJJackson FROWNED UPON?! Seriously dude? frowned. Aren't you the reverend? 10 commandments or 10 suggestions?
— wojtek arciszewski (@wojrants) August 21, 2013
.@RevJJackson FROWNED UPON? Did you really just freaking SAY that? That's all you've got – really?
— C2 (@corrcomm) August 21, 2013
Cold blooded murder only gets "frowned upon", by @RevJJackson. No justice no peace we much?
— Hugo Hackenbush (@MangyLover) August 21, 2013
@RevJJackson burping in public is frowned upon, premeditated murder is a bit more serious.
— Matt (@Matthewtremblay) August 21, 2013
Now that Jesse Jackson has "frowned upon" Chris Lane's murder, we just need Rev. Al to add a "tut-tut" and we're all set.
— John Hayward (@Doc_0) August 21, 2013
#FrownUponMurder MT “@RevJJackson: Praying for the family of Chris Lane. This senseless violence is frowned upon….”
— Daniel (@dan_the_man25) August 21, 2013
#FrownUponMurder indeed. After #FalselyClaimingMurder when it was politically opportune.
But it’s a damn good living, eh, Reverend?

Update: Black teen who murdered Australian jogger posted racist Tweets. No, what’s racist is mentioning that fact. Right, racebaiters?
90% of white ppl are nasty. #HATE THEM
— jamesakabug (@JAMESAKABUG) April 29, 2013
And he had a few other opinions to share:
With my niggas when it's time to start taken life's
— jamesakabug (@JAMESAKABUG) August 13, 2013
i'd rather kill you! than chill wit you!#ifyouaint #withmeyou #againstme
— jamesakabug (@JAMESAKABUG) February 23, 2013
Is this to be “frowned upon”? Better check with the Rev. Jackson.
Update: White House spokesman not familiar with Chris Lane murder. Why would he be? The kid didn’t look a thing like Obama.
