New York University students returning to campus this week can participate in a university-sponsored sex toy giveaway, play “guess the straight person” with the LGBTQ center, and receive oral sex tips from a local sex store.

The NYU LGBTQ Student Center — a resource and support group for gay students on campus — is partnering with local sex store Babeland to host a variety of steamy events on Thursday, including lessons on proper sex toy techniques. Workshops are titled “Sex Toys 101,” “Oral Sex Tips,” and “Strap-On Play,” according to Campus Reform.

“Arrive early,” suggests an announcement about the event. “The first fifteen students will receive gift bags.”

They will also receive advice from Planned Parenthood — which will have an official presence at the event, according to a flyer — on how to become more effective advocates for “sexual health awareness.”

The fun continues all week. The center will host “Guess the Straight Person,” on Tuesday and Thursday, in which audience participants will pose questions to panelists of mixed orientations.

The purpose of the NYU LGBTQ Student Center is to provide “support services, resources, programs, advocacy, training, education and consultation,” to NYU students, according to its website.

Sex-themed events where students are given sexual paraphernalia are becoming more and more frequent on campuses, especially at start of semester, and during Valentine’s Day week.
