A closed circuit camera in Missouri caught a man attempting to rob a store — only to have a gun pulled on him by the employee behind the counter, Jon Lewis Alexander, an Iraq war veteran with 30 years of military service.
When the would-be robber pulled a gun on Alexander and demanded money, his military training took over, reports the Daily Mail. Alexander pushed aside the man’s gun while reaching for his Walther PPX 9 mm handgun in his back pocket, planting the gun in the criminal’s mouth.
Alexander, 54, served four tours in Iraq and has also worked as a prison guard. The thief has not been publicly identified.
