Job interviews are hard, but if you don’t get the job it’s not the end of the world. In these times of economic hardship and with so many people competing for jobs, going to a job interview can be a nerve-wracking experience, but for the people in the latest LG commercial the experience, for a few moments at least, it really did seem like the end of the world.
As a way to show off its new ultra-fancy widescreen TV, the company built a mock interview room with the TV playing the part of the window. The unsuspecting interviewee was then shown into the room and while the oblivious interviewer proceeded to talk to them as footage of a meteor hurtling to earth played behind them.
Suffice it to say that the last thing on the interviewees mind was the corporate dental plan and vacation days.
This is not the first time that LG has pulled this sort of prank. A previous commercial saw the company replace the floor of an elevator with a TV monitors and then play video of the floor collapsing to unsuspecting passengers.
Here at The Daily Caller however we are just more impressed with the ad agency that suggested to LG that the best way to sell a twenty thousand dollar TV was with the concept: “It looks so real you will think you are going to die!”
