Liberal darling and Texas Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis will announce her future political plans in early October.

In an email to supporters Wednesday, Davis said she would be revealing her next steps on Oct. 3.

“There’s one question I’ve gotten quite often in the past few months,” she wrote in her email, according to The Dallas Morning News. “I’ve heard it online, while I’m traveling around the state, from the media, and in my Fort Worth neighborhood: What’s next?”

“On October 3rd, I’ll be answering that question,” she added. “And as part of my dedicated network of grassroots supporters, you will be among the very first to find out.”

Davis rose to national prominence over the summer with an 11-hour filibuster to temporarily block a bill placing restrictions on abortions in Texas.  Her name has been floated as the possible Democratic candidate for governor.

At an appearance in Washington in August, Davis said she would either run for her Senate seat or take a stab at the governorship.

“I can say with absolute certainty that I will run for one of two offices: Either my state Senate seat or the governor,” she said at the National Press Club.

Davis also asked supporters to post on social media about her announcement.

“I truly appreciate all the work that you — my grassroots team — have done for me thus far. And I’m excited about what we can do together in the future,” she wrote.
