A new device on the market aims to block advertisements before they reach an Internet user’s device, CNN reports.

The device, AdTrap, resembles a wireless router and blocks ads that try to reach tablets, phones and laptops on the particular network connected to the AdTrap.

AdTrap, which is being manufactured by mobile antivirus software firm Bluepoint Security, started shipping in August.

Chad Russell, one of the device’s inventors hopes to give users a choice to experience the Internet as it was before it was saturated with advertisements.

“I think it speaks to the mindset of people right now of their experience on the Internet,” Russell told CNN.
