“Saturday Night Live” tried to capitalize on Miley Cyrus’ tongue-wagging, butt cheek-sagging, idiotic twerking act by having her host the show this weekend and make fun of — what else? — the government shutdown. Because when you’re going to parody a complex political issue, you’re obviously going to call a 20-year-old pop star who doesn’t know what pants are. Nobody does it better!

Cyrus played a raunchy Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann in a parody of her “We Can’t Stop” music video called “We Did Stop,” all about how Republicans shut down the government.

Boehner

Taran Killam played a perfectly man-tanned Speaker of the House John Boehner who pops a gold grill into his mouth and sings, “It’s our party, we can do what we want/ It’s our party, we can say what we want/ We can stop what we want/ We can vote how we want/ Defund what we want.”

“Bachmann” twerks around in nothing but a black blazer and underwear, while Boehner sets off his orange skin in a white crop top. There is also a Reagan hologram and an Uncle Sam as a guy whose genital area emits a large puff of smoke. President Barack Obama also stops by the party, but is not invited to come in and join the fun.

Clearly, it’s all absolutely hilarious! “SNL,” you’ve done it again! Don’t let anybody tell you that the show should have ended at least eight years ago.
