Has “The Life of Julia” ended already?

Font Size:

You remember Julia, don’t you? Y’know, the woman whose life was, is, and will be a beautiful utopia thanks to the beneficence of King Barry the First.

“Vote for me, or Mitt Romney will take away all your free goodies and give you cancer!”

This slideshow, on Obama’s official campaign site, depicted Julia’s entire lifetime of dependence on the government. For example, here she is in college, safe and alive thanks to The One:

Boo, Mitt Romney! Why do you want this fictional construct to die???

But now that we’re seeing how well the whole thing is working out, Julia is nowhere to be found. As blogger Ann Althouse discovered:

I have something I’d like to say about it, but I can’t find it anywhere on the web. It’s not at the link everyone linked to when everyone was talking about it, which was at the Obama campaign website. The campaign is over, so I guess there’s no obligation to continue to host it, but this was an important historical document, and it shouldn’t fall down the memory hole.

Yep. If you go to the, ahem, “Truth Team” site, you see this:

liars

But when you click the link, you get an error message.

Does Obama want us to forget all his amazing promises already? Or, as one of Althouse’s commenters speculates, is Julia the one who built healthcare.gov? Is she in protective custody?

Goodbye, Julia. We’ll never forget you. No matter how helpful that would be.
