House GOP slams Obamacare ‘broken promises’

With millions of Americans receiving letters notifying them that their current health insurance plans will be canceled, the House Republican Conference is out with a new video highlighting President Barack Obama’s repeated promise “if you like your insurance plan, you will keep it.”

The video, released Wednesday, alternates clips of Obama promising Americans that they will be able to keep their current coverage if they want to keep it with video of Americans speaking about their lost coverage.

And while the president continued to assure the nation that they could keep their health insurance, NBC News reported this week that the administration has known for at least three years that millions could lose their coverage — specifically 40 to 67 percent of customers who purchase individual insurance. (RELATED: Even liberal New York Magazine turning against Obama’s Obamacare BS [VIDEO])

On Tuesday, White House spokesman Jay Carney blamed the dropped coverage on insurance companies.

“The insurer is making the decision to cancel the plan, and to reissue or offer the individual a new plan with different benefits and new costs,” Carney said.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is scheduled to testify before Congress about the bungled roll out of Obamacare Wednesday.
