When reporter Bruce Johnson of WUSA and his camera crew went to investigate a reported home invasion in Southeast DC, they ran into more than they bargained for.
According to Johnson’s story on the WUSA website, they were looking to talk to neighbors about the possible home invasion and hostage situation. Four armed men were holding eight people hostage and had assaulted three of them.
The news crew was standing on the sidewalk when an angry woman emerged from her home, demanding that the crew left.
“She leaves the window, appears out the front door, spraying mace and shouting profanities,” Johnson said. “There is a punch thrown that hits me and my photographer.”
The woman has not been publicly identified, although police were called about the incident.
We are okay, not even shaken by the incident,” Johnson said. “We have notified police. We are not interested in pressing charges.”
This type of crazy only happens in Southeast.
