Obamas poison trick-or-treaters with butter and sugar

The recipe for the cookies handed out to trick-or-treaters by first lady Michelle Obama Thursday contains a pound of sugar and two pounds of butter per batch.

Michelle Obama, founder of the “Let’s Move” healthy eating campaign, handed out jelly beans and White House Sweet Dough Butter Cookies to local children and the children of veterans as part of Thursday’s White House Halloween festivities. She was joined by her mother and husband, President Barack Obama.

The recipe for White House Sweet Dough Butter Cookies contains a pound of sugar and two pounds of butter per batch. According to an Internet search, a batch numbers approximately 24 and 36 cookies.

The Obamas also gave out dried fruit, in keeping with the tenets of Michelle’s advocacy work.

The president of the United States wore an orange collared shirt under a black sweater for the event.
