God love him — Joe Biden just can’t get anything right.
According MassLive.com, Biden tried to call Boston mayor-elect Marty Walsh Tuesday night to congratulate him on his victory.
“You son of a gun,” the vice president exclaimed when he connected with Walsh, in what may be the most Biden-esque thing he could have said.
The only problem is the Marty Walsh Biden was talking to was not the Marty Walsh that was just elected mayor of Boston.
After realizing he was talking to a former Senate staffer to the late Ted Kennedy and not the new mayor-elect of Boston, Biden corrected course. He ultimately left a voicemail congratulating the right Marty Walsh.
Biden wasn’t the only politico to make that error Tuesday. According to the Cape Cod Times, Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak also made the same mistake.
