A new poll Friday reveals the vast majority of uninsured Americans have not even visited the Obamacare exchange websites.

A Gallup poll, conducted from Oct. 23 to Nov. 6, found that 18 percent of uninsured adults have attempted to visit a government health insurance exchange website since the launch on Oct. 1.

Of the uninsured adults who plan on or have already gotten insurance through the exchange, 22 percent said they had attempted to visit one of the government exchanges. Only three in 10 uninsured Americans said they were “familiar with the exchanges.”

“The health exchange websites are not only fraught with the technical problems that have led to so much news coverage in recent weeks, but have also generated relatively little interest or use among uninsured Americans — the primary target group for the exchanges,” Gallup’s Frank Newport explained.

According to Gallup, 17 percent of adults in America are uninsured.

In late October, Gallup found that 44 percent of uninsured Americans said they planned to get insurance from the exchange.

The poll of 854 uninsured adults has a margin of error of +/-5 percent.
