Tom Cruise, whose net worth is somewhere around $250 million, has just as hard of a job as soldiers fighting in Afghanistan, according to Tom Cruise.
Cruise is currently suing Bauer Media Group’s for libel after a Life & Style story claimed that he abandoned his daughter, Suri.
In a recently released deposition, Cruise compared his acting gig and being away from his family to a soldier who is deployed overseas. According to TMZ, here is the exchange:
Lawyer: “Now, your counsel has publicly equated your absence from Suri for these extended periods of time as being analogous to someone fighting in Afghanistan. Are you aware of that?”
Cruise: “I didn’t hear the Afghanistan, but that’s what it feels like, and certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal.”
He also said that memorizing a few lines at a time and repeating them on camera is comparable to being an Olympic sprinter.
Cruise’s lawyer told TMZ that the verbatim quote has been “distorted.”
