Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley says it is too early to be picking favorites of the many Republicans lining up to run for president in 2016, but the Republican Senator did have some thoughts on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s “physique.”

Christie had weight loss surgery earlier this year, and has reportedly been steadily losing weight ever since. Still, he remains a large man, something that Grassley suggested might be an asset.

“Just look at his physique: You know, when Washington’s ready to blow up, wouldn’t it be kind of nice to have a guy like him sitting on the pot?” Grassley said in an interview with WHOtv in Des Moines.

Iowa’s infamous tweeting Senator also had some unsolicited advice for the New Jersey Governor, if and when he launches a presidential bid. Christie, who is seen as one of the more moderate Republicans considering a presidential bid in 2016, could follow in the path of other moderate Republicans like Sen. John McCain and skip campaigning in Iowa entirely, heading straight to the more hospitable environment of New Hampshire, instead.

“I would advise him not to forget Iowa,” Grassley said. “He better come here.”
