The Michigan State Spartans have a lot to celebrate about. They upset Ohio State Saturday 34-24 to win the Big 10 title and clinch their spot in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1988.
Students in East Lansing were so spirited about the victory that they decided to riot. Police said there were multiple large fires and that they made arrests. A cab driver, Edward Pease, told WOOD, “I didn’t think people would actually burn so much stuff. It’s a lot of damage out here.”
Other witnesses described the scene as “chaos.” The rioting died down by around 4 a.m.
