WASHINGTON — When Idaho Republican Sen. Mike Crapo came to the floor Tuesday to voice his opposition to confirming Rep. Mel Watt to lead the Federal Housing Finance Agency, C-SPAN junkies noticed the mark on Crapo’s cheek.

The Idaho Senator had returned from recess with a mark just under his right eye, extending down along his right cheek that appeared to be some sort of injury.

According to his communications director Lindsay Nothern, Crapo hurt himself over recess while doing some redecorating.

“He fell while moving furniture at his home over the recess,” Nothern emailed.

The Senator, Nothern said, “received some stitches, but is healing ok.”
