Real estate mogul and billionaire Donald Trump spent the holidays ridiculing climate scientists headed to the South Pole to document global warming who instead got stuck in sea ice.

Trump made his opinions known on Twitter.

It is really too bad that the scientists studying GLOBAL WARMING in Antarctica got stuck on their icebreaker because of massive ice and cold

On Dec. 24, the Akademik Shokalskiy research vessel got stuck in thick Antarctic sea ice on its way to the south pole. The vessel held 52 passengers, including climate scientists who were looking to show how global warming has melted the ice surrounding the southern continent.

The vessel became stuck in the ice for over a week. Chinese and Australian boats finally rescued the passengers on Thursday. While the climate scientists on the expedition remain convinced that global warming is melting Antarctic sea ice, Trump has slammed the expedition.

The rescue icebreaker, trying to free the ship of the GLOBAL WARMING scientists, has turned back-the ice is massive (a record). IRONIC!

Trump also added this little comment about record temperature lows hitting large areas of the country late last year:

Temperature at record lows in many parts of the country. 50 degrees below zero with wind chill in large area. Global warming folks iced in!

In case his Twitter followers couldn’t decipher what he thinks about global warming, Trump tweeted out this message:

This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice
