The New York Knicks beat the Dallas Mavericks 92-80 on Sunday night, mainly thanks to a healthy Carmelo Anthony. However, a classic trick by the quick-thinking JR Smith may have given the Knicks a slight defensive edge.
The Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki was shooting free throws when a seemingly innocent Smith bent over and quickly untied the shoelace of Shawn Marion. Marion looked confused more than anything, but was unable to retie the shoe until about a minute later.
Hopefully this heralds a new era of creative basketball plays. It’s only a matter of time before Lebron declares that the court is lava.
