Late last month, a Houston-area mother found a 27-year-old man hiding in her 13-year-old daughter’s room. He was in the closet. He was wearing nothing but boxer shorts. It was 4 a.m.
The mom responded the way pretty much any mother would, reports local NBC affiliate KPRC. She slapped the scumbag sex criminal upside the head a few times until he hit the ground. Then, she held him captive until the police showed up.
The man who got pummeled turned out to be registered sex offender Syrjuan Benson.
“She met him through a friend at school and he posed as a 16-year-old boy,” the barely teenage girl’s mother said.
“One he got over here, he wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer,” she added.
He had initially broken into the home through a window.
KPRC isn’t naming the girl, obviously, and also isn’t identifying her mother.
It was the family dog who alertly barked, giving away Benson’s hiding place.
“We got into a scuffle inside the house,” the unidentified mom explained to the NBC station. “I hit him in the face three good times and he fell to the floor.”
According to the prizefighting parent, the 27-year-old Benson assured police that he was a 16-year-old teenager named Chris.
“Come to find out he was a registered sex offender,” the mother lamented to KPRC. “Twenty-seven year old sleeping with my 13-year-old daughter.”
The mom also claims she found out that Benson met her daughter and her daughter’s friends by trolling at her school and telling a bunch of little girls he was just a lad.
“There’s no telling how many more he’s done this,” the anonymous mother noted.
Public records indicate that Benson was booked into the Harris County Jail on Dec. 28 on a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child.
He is being held in jail without bond. He will presumably be there until his next court date, which is toward the end of January.
Just a few short months ago, Benson was convicted of a separate, unrelated sexual assault charge.
